At the end of the twenties, Luisa began to select specimens of a domestic species from the Garden which had never been bred systematically in Italy, the Angora rabbit, so as to obtain a yarn that could be used in clothing. The result was surprising for its uniformity and fineness, thanks to the use of traditional techniques and the choice of brushing rather than shearing when collecting the wool.
